It may be too soon to plant and too soon to build new garden beds… but it’s never too soon to stake out where things will go!

Our first Ghost Chili peppers of the 2011 season, on overwintering plants in the basement. Better late than never! Can’t wait to taste.

Who says gardening has to end in the winter? Chili pepper plants are alive an well in the basement. As adult plants, they’ll hopefully bear ridiculous amounts of fruit early in the spring when they go back outdoors.

It got a bit cool last night. The tomatoes and peppers are acting like it’s no big deal, but you can tell they’re somewhat nervous.

I was briefly confused about the timing of these sprouts, and then remembered: oh yeah, I suppose it’s -winter- in the southern hemisphere! I may have to live vicariously through Australian gardens in the coming months. Thanks for sharing!

23 days after the last shot, 45 days after the one before that, and 56 after the one before that.
